The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications announced, in a statement on Saturday, the receipt of letters from the participants in the 2023 edition of the National Letter-writing Competition for Children, on “Traffic Safety”, from February 14 to April 10, 2023, in preparation for Algeria’s participation in the competition. International letter writing.

And the same source explained that the competition was devoted this year to the topic of traffic safety: “Imagine that you are a superhero and your mission is to make all the roads of the world safer for children. Write a letter to someone explaining to him what superpowers you will need to carry out your mission,” in preparation for Algeria’s participation in the competition. International letter-writing competition organized by the Universal Postal Union.

And he added, in the same context, that this competition, which is organized annually in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, “will be distinguished in its new edition by the contribution of the Ministry of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning, the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, the Ministry of Transport, the National Commission for Child Protection, the Gendarmerie Command National, the General Directorate of National Security and the National Delegation for Road Safety.

Regarding the conditions for participation in the competition, the ministry stated in its statement that it is “open to the category of children between the ages of 9 and 15 years,” and that “the letter should be written in one of the two national languages: Arabic or Amazigh, and it should contain an introduction to the author of the message (name). surname, date and place of birth, academic level, guardian’s phone number and name of the educational institution with mention of the state to which it belongs), date, addressee, opening salutation, body of the letter, closing salutation and signature.

And the participation of the same child is in “only one message”, with the necessity of “strict adherence to the topic and the number of words allowed, which should not exceed 800 words.”

And the same source pointed out that letters are received in the aforementioned period at the level of educational institutions or post offices, in this case the letter is placed in a closed postal envelope bearing the following address: “Mr. Director of Post and Telecommunications (with mentioning the concerned state)”, and adding The phrase: “The National Competition for Children to Write Letters”, without the need to put a postage stamp. Letters can also be received by e-mail “[email protected]”.

With regard to the selection of letters, this takes place through 3 stages – the statement adds – where “it takes place at the state level, then the regional level and finally at the national level.” Also, “the letters selected at the regional level will be rewritten by their authors under the supervision of the arbitration committee, After that, the best letter at the national level will be sent to the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union in order to represent Algeria in the international competition for writing letters, before the date of May 05, 2023.

In this context, the ministry stated that “those with the best messages at the national level will receive valuable prizes.”
