In pictures… The opening of the activities of the 13th edition of the International Cultural Festival of Folk Dance in Sidi Bel Abbes – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Ismail Abrier, representative of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Soria Moulouji, inaugurated Thursday evening at the level of the open-air theater “Saim Lakhdar” in Sidi Bel Abbes, the activities of the 13th edition of the International Cultural Festival of Folk Dance, in the presence of the state governor and local authorities.

The festival, which witnessed the participation of eight foreign teams and national and local teams, in the midst of a distinguished audience. The participating teams created the most beautiful artistic paintings of folk dance, highlighting the richness and diversity of the cultural and artistic heritage of the participating countries.

The Minister also welcomed the guests from the foreign teams and the participating teams, and confirmed in a speech delivered by Mr. Ismail Yabrier on her behalf that folk dance has been linked to an ingrained popular cultural practice, and that our country is rich in various folk dances that connect man to the land, which is an indicator of resistance and persistence among Algerians.

Also, folk dance, like other folk arts, includes messages and through life, and is not devoid of manifestations of joy and happiness.

The 13th edition of the International Folk Dance Festival was marked by the special participation, for the first time, of a group of people of determination from the sister country of Egypt, which was appreciated by the audience, who responded to it in a distinguished way.

Knowing that this edition will also know the organization of several folk dance performances at the Millennium Square level, which will be presented by more than thirty local folk dance troupes and three gunpowder troupes, which will also roam the various main streets of the city of Sidi Bel Abbes and the First November Square.
