He urged the group of male and female guides from the Hajj delegation members to follow the instructions directed to them and included within the road map drawn up in its procedural, administrative and directive aspects, to ensure – as he said – “the best possible supervision for the Algerian pilgrims, whether in Medina or in Mecca.”

Pointing out that they are “in the process of carrying out a national mission and must perform it in the required and correct manner in order to best represent Algeria.”

The minister stopped at the aspect related to issuing fatwas, stressing that “everyone must adhere to the national religious authority, and not be complacent in listening to the pilgrims’ concerns and questions and directing them in the correct manner,” highlighting “the importance of the role played by female religious guides during the Hajj period, who are more numerous in number.” This year there are 20 female guides.”

Not far from that, there are 26 muftis who are members of the Fatwa Committee in Mecca, compared to 12 muftis in Medina,” saying, “Female religious guides and male guides must return, whenever necessary, to the fatwa cells that will accompany the pilgrims throughout their stay in the Holy Places.”
