The National Gendarmerie arrests 3 people and seizes 3 kg of cocaine – New Algeria

Today, elements of the National Gendarmerie of Relizane arrested three people and seized more than 3 kg of hard drugs, likely cocaine, and 20 kg of processed kif.

According to a statement by the National Gendarmerie, while members of the East/West Highway Platoon were serving the traffic police at the level of the fixed embankment on the highway in the territory of the Wadi Rhiou municipality, their attention was drawn to a tourist car whose driver appeared to be showing signs of confusion and fear, after he was stopped, the vehicle’s administrative documents were monitored, and it was searched. Carefully, using technical diodes, more than 3 kg of hard drugs, possibly cocaine, and 20 kg of processed alcohol were found under the foot mat in the front of the car. As a result, the subject was arrested and taken, along with the detainees, to the headquarters of the research platoon to continue the investigation. After using the rapid detector for “crack” cocaine and sending a sample to the National Institute of Criminal Evidence and Criminology in Bouchaoui, the result was positive. After in-depth investigation, completion of all legal procedures, and extension of jurisdiction to several states of the country, the operation enabled the dismantling of an international network specialized in trafficking in hard drugs, whose activity extends across all states of the country.

-The operation resulted in the seizure of:

– 03 kg of hard drugs (cocaine)

-20 kg of processed kief,

– Arrest (03) people and detain:

– (02) tourist car;

– A sum of money in the national currency estimated at (35) thousand Algerian dinars;

– Electronic scale;

– 05 mobile phone;

– Two iron cutters;

– Once the investigation is completed, the suspects will be brought before the competent regional judicial authorities.
