The Prime Minister, Ayman bin Abdul Rahman, chaired a government meeting held at the Government Palace today, Wednesday, and the government, during its weekly meeting, studied many files, according to the Prime Minister’s statement, today, Wednesday.

In the field of justice, the government has studied two preliminary draft laws submitted by the Minister of Justice, Keeper of Seals. They are represented in particular in: “A preliminary draft law amending and completing Ordinance No. 66-156 of June 8, 1966, which includes the Penal Code. It should be noted that this draft text, which is presented in a second reading, aims specifically at strengthening the fight against crime and improving the performance of justice and penal protection for teachers as well as some vulnerable groups.

This amendment also enshrines the state’s full commitment to accompany and protect managers and investors, especially by decriminalizing the act of management and criminalizing obstruction of the act of investment with the intent of harming the national economy.

It should be noted that this project has ensured the President’s directive regarding the tightening of the penalties applied in the field of fraud and forgery in all its forms, especially the forgery of residency documents to obtain real estate or housing unlawfully.

The second draft relates to a preliminary draft of a law that includes the Code of Criminal Procedure. This text, which will replace Ordinance No. 66-155 of June 8, 1966, came with a deep and qualitative reform of the Code of Criminal Procedure in order to adapt it to the letter and spirit of the reforms emanating from the constitutional amendment of the first of November 2020 related to the justice sector.

This new text aims to improve the conduct of criminal cases, digitize procedures, strengthen rights and freedoms, enshrine the principle of legal security, as well as combat serious crimes, in addition to reforming the criminal court and reviewing rulings related to some criminal courts.

It should be noted that this new law has ensured the embodiment of the President of the Republic’s instructions related to the protection of managers.

In the field of trade, the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion made an evaluation presentation to the government on the implementation of the rehabilitation and development plan of the Algerian Company for Exhibitions and Export (SAFEX).

As part of the new strategy to promote non-hydrocarbon exports, this project aims to enhance and modernize exhibition spaces as well as integrate new services that respond to the needs of exhibitors and their immediate surroundings in order to enable the Algerian Company for Exhibitions and Export to adapt its service offerings to the new national economic dynamism and to international best practices.

In the field of health, the government listened to a presentation by the Minister of Health on the national policy for combating cancer and means of preventing this disease.

In this regard, I refer to all the means employed by the state to improve the care of patients with this disease, especially in terms of the completion of specialized health facilities, represented by cancer control centers and specialized interests integrated at the level of public health institutions, and medical devices, in addition to the financial effort made to ensure regular supply. with oncological drugs.
