In pictures.. An international opening ceremony for “Chain of Algeria 2022” – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia
Algerian artists Solking, Toto, the Desert Blues band Ticopaouen and the Congolese singer Dadjo performed, on Friday evening, at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki (Algiers), the opening ceremony of the seventh edition of the African Nations Football Championship (CHAN 2022) in a joyful atmosphere created by the large audience present.
And the Prime Minister, Ayman bin Abdelrahman, on behalf of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, gave the signal to launch this edition of the African Nations Championship for Football, in the presence of members of the government and representatives of international and local football bodies.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the President of the International Federation of Football, Gianni Infantino, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Algerian Football Federation, Jahid Zvezif, as well as the grandson of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela, Zweliville Mandela.
The opening ceremony began with folklore dances performed by five groups of ballet dancers and dancers in traditional costumes representing all regions of Algeria, to the sound of two songs by the late artists Dahmane El Harrachi and Idir.
The Algerian artist residing in the United States of America, Toto (Fathi Tabbouche), was the first to light the stands with the members of the “Ticopawen” band, before they were joined by the rapper Dadjo and then the Algerian rap star Solking.
The opening ceremony was marked by a great aesthetic scenography dominated by African colors and enhanced by fireworks.
The activities of Shan 2022 will continue until next February 4 through matches programmed in the capital, Oran, Annaba and Constantine.
