Conference “Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought”… Scholars of the Islamic World Nominate This Center to Prepare an Encyclopedia on the “Islamic Intellectual Community” – Algerian Dialogue

Scholars of the Islamic world participating in the dialogue and discussion sessions at the conference chose: “Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought.” The Intellectual Protection Center of the Ministry of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia chose to prepare a comprehensive study on: “The Islamic Intellectual Synthesis,” in preparation for issuing an encyclopedia on this subject that the Center will prepare later. .
The selection decision included that the center: “enjoys excellence in studying intellectual issues in accordance with the message, objectives and document of the conference, which was ratified by the conference attendees with all their sectarian diversity.”
He explained the selection decision, which also assigned some tasks related to the title, axes, and document of the conference to three research bodies that the conference scholars granted their confidence after informing them of the competence and excellence of their work, so that what was assigned to them would be presented on the agenda of the next conference to build bridges between Islamic schools of thought. Closely related to the links between Islamic sects, which are summarized in the term: “the Islamic sect,” which represents the basis of their general Islamic ties, with an understanding of the specificity of each Islamic sect, whether in its origins or its branches, that the Center for Intellectual Protection has adopted the comprehensiveness of Islamic discourse and the care given to its phrases, their brevity, the breadth of their content, and the integrity of their content, which It represents an Islamic concept of moderation that includes Islamic diversity, far from the exclusionism or factionalism that isolationism from the sectarian coalition tends toward.
The rationale included that the Center’s proposal is characterized by pursuing suspicions of extremism, specifically those that target the sectarian Islamic coalition regarding its partners, in a contemporary situation that is in need of being reminded of and paying attention to, taking into account not to undermine the origins of the sects in light of which their own identity was formed, in a way that provokes their clash. And its struggle instead of its dialogue, understanding, and adoption of wisdom between them, which is what made the conference participants note the proposal presented by the Center in its intellectual aspect specifically, and especially the distance from names and descriptions that undermine Islamic cooperation and understanding in its major issues at the expense of the comprehensive name (Islam) that strengthens the Islamic coalition within the framework of its common interests, which The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Muslim World League are working on it, with the conferees emphasizing the sectarian specificity of each sect, as is the national specificity of each country. However, the unity of speech on major issues, including confronting sectarian sectarianism and intellectual extremism, requires summoning that Islamic unity for which those two international organizations were established. From its important standpoint, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued its major and influential Islamic pioneering role in strengthening Islamic solidarity.
