The Algerian press did not yield to the blackmail of colonial powers around the world
Speaker of the National Assembly, Salih Gojil, praised the gains of the national press, which did not compromise with a human fate, did not submit to blackmail, did not delay in supporting truth and just causes, did not slip towards the other edge of the media sword, and did not desecrate the honor of the profession before the interests of colonial powers in the world.
In a statement to the National Assembly, on Sunday, on the occasion of the National Press Day, which falls on October 22 of each year, Saleh Gojil sent a message of congratulations to the media family, greeting all components of the media family in Algeria, from the written, audio, visual and electronic press.
The President of the Council expressed his pride in the honorable path taken by generations of journalists, for the sake of the independence and stability of the country, and their contribution, with all responsibility and commitment to the ethics of honest media work, to the renaissance project to build a new, strong and prosperous Algeria, the foundations of which will be laid by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Gogel added that celebrating this day is an opportunity to glorify the gains and highlight the shortcomings, and an opportunity to intensify efforts to establish a “strong and influential” press, embodying the principles of the 2020 Constitution and the supportive legislative system through the new media law.
The President of the Council recalled the epics that Algerian journalists went through with all professionalism, believing in the nobility of the media message that defends human values and advocates for human rights and the dignity of peoples. Journalism whose weapon is credibility and whose goal is to spread the truth without falsification, misleading, or double standards.
Gogel noted the gains of the national press, which did not compromise with a human fate, did not yield to blackmail, did not delay in supporting truth and just causes, and did not slip towards the other end of the media sword, where consciences are sold, the truth is assassinated, lies are spread and allegations are beautified, and the honor of the profession is desecrated before the interests of the colonial powers in the world. .
