The new media law will be a valuable gain

On Sunday, President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, congratulated the national media community on the occasion of National Press Day, which falls on October 22 of each year, as he praised the men and women of this profession who dedicated themselves and their pens to defending Algeria.

He stated that this occasion “brings back to everyone’s minds the achievements and virtues of the national press, which fought, side by side with the rest of the living forces in this dear country, the battles of liberation from colonialism and the building of Algeria in all the stages it took, step by step and step by step.”
The President of the National People’s Assembly also saluted “all the men and women who dedicated themselves, their pens and their equipment to defending Algeria and promoting its just approaches, using unyielding determination and proven professionalism that continues to develop.”
In this context, he took this occasion to also salute “all members of the media sector, which witnessed, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a qualitative leap translated in particular by the recent media law, which will constitute a valuable gain and will also contribute to pushing the profession towards more Progress and steadfastness in the face of new forms of war that have begun to use deception and rumors as a weapon no less dangerous than traditional weapons.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Salih Gojil, praised the gains of the national press, which did not compromise with a human fate, did not submit to blackmail, did not delay in supporting truth and just causes, did not slip towards the other edge of the media sword, and did not desecrate the honor of the profession before the interests of colonial powers in the world.
