Latest developments on Benrahma’s injury
The joy of the Algerian player Said Benrahma was not complete; Marking his fifth starting appearance out of six matches he played since joining the French club Olympique Lyonnais.
The 28-year-old left the field of Le Mistoir stadium on Saturday, 14 minutes before the end of normal time in the match that witnessed Lyon’s victory over its host Lorient with two unanswered goals for the 25th week of the French League Championship.
An injury to his thigh prevented Saeed from continuing to play, but it later turned out to be serious and might keep him from further appointments.
French media sources reported, awaiting confirmation from the Olympique Lyonnais administration, that the West Ham United striker will be absent for several weeks due to a tear in his hamstring muscle.

His return to the greens is postponed
The first national team, under the leadership of its new coach, Bosnian Vladimir Petkovic, is preparing to participate in a friendly international tournament, hosted by Algeria between 21 and 26 March, in the presence of the teams of South Africa, Bolivia and Andorra.
National media nominated Saeed Benrahma to register his return to the national team on this occasion after former coach Djamel Belmadi dismissed him in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast.
Benrahma’s last appearance in the Greens jersey dates back to the friendly confrontation against Egypt, in the United Arab Emirates last October, which ended in a positive draw at the time (1-1).
It should be noted that Lyon’s right winger has 25 international appearances since the first call-up he received in 2015, when French coach Christian Gourcuff was supervising the national team.
Throughout this period, he was satisfied with scoring a single goal, as that was in 2021, when the Desert Warriors faced the Djibouti national team (4-0) in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar.
