Al-Bahi: The Republic of the Rif is a historical fact independent of the State of the Makhzen and fraternal relations unite us with Algeria – Algerian Dialogue

A member of the Rif National Party, Muhammad Al-Bahi, stated that the Republic of the Rif was established in 1921 independently of the current State of the Makhzen and continued until 1927 under the leadership of Muhammad bin Abdel Karim Al-Khattabi, the leader of the resistance in the Moroccan countryside. Al-Bahi said, in statements to Radio Algeria International, yesterday, Saturday, on the sidelines of the first session of “Rural Day” in Algeria, that the people of the countryside are the heirs of that republic and we are striving to restore it because it is our land and the land of our ancestors and it was never affiliated with either the Zionists or the Makhzen regime, which we consider it to be. A colonial and murderous country for our children, which forced more than 8 million rural residents to immigrate to the countries of the European continent.

The leading member of the Rif National Party added, “We want our voice to be heard to the world that we are not advocates of war, but advocates of peace, and all we want is to obtain the right to establish our state in a peaceful manner and to issue a constitution for the Rif region.”

He continued, saying, “The People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria is a sister country and we have historical brotherly relations with it, as our ancestors preferred to cross the border to seek work in Algeria during the French colonial period for more than 30 months annually instead of heading to Morocco, at a time when some statistics indicate that approximately 400 To 500,000 rural people currently residing in Algeria.”

The first session of “Rural Day” held in Algeria witnessed a distinguished African presence, led by delegations from South Africa, the Sahrawi Arab Republic, and the State of Mozambique, in addition to many associations and non-governmental organizations interested in human rights.

For his part, Jacob Sibined, representative of the Mozambican PIMO party, expressed his country’s support for the right of the Sahrawi people to independence and freedom under the leadership of the Polisario Front from the Makhzen regime, and his support for the same path, the struggle of the Rif people for the establishment of the Rif Republic as a state separate from the Makhzen regime.

In turn, the Deputy Foreign Minister of South Africa renewed his condemnation of the war of extermination against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip at the hands of the Zionist entity and with American cover.

The same official said that his country will spare no effort in pursuing the Zionist war criminal Ben Yamin Netanyahu, his leaders, and all Zionist officials involved in war crimes in the Gaza Strip and all Palestinian territories, subject to the Zionist occupation, and bring them to trial before the International Criminal Court.
