Zitouni supervises the opening of the Algerian products exhibition in the Ugandan capital, Kampala – Algerian Dialogue

Yesterday, Friday, the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, accompanied by the Ugandan Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperation, Francis Mwebesa, supervised the opening of the Algerian products exhibition in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, according to what the ministry was informed of.

In a statement following the inauguration of the exhibition, which includes 51 public and private Algerian institutions active in various fields, Zitouni stressed “the importance of Algerian products entering African markets and investing at the continental level, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” recalling “ The priority given by the President of the Republic to the access of national products to foreign markets, especially the African market.

He continued, saying: “We are in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, in order to confirm all the decisions that were taken in the joint meetings and in implementation of the instructions of the presidents of the two countries.”

Zitouni stressed that “historic relations link Algeria and Uganda, which are translated today into strong economic relations.”

He recalled the working visits he led, in this context, to Mauritania, Senegal, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire in order to display national products in the markets of these countries and facilitate talks between Algerian economic customers and customers in these African countries.

He also welcomed the “facilities and welcome” that the Algerian delegation received in Uganda, calling on economic operators “to complete the journey in order to access these markets.”

For his part, the head of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Mawla, who accompanies the minister on his visit, along with 20 other businessmen and representatives of 51 Algerian institutions, explained that this visit falls within “the policy of intensifying efforts and accompanying economic operators in promoting the Algerian product.” Abroad,” noting the “positive interaction” that Algerian products received from the Ugandan side.

Mr. Mwebisa, in turn, stressed that the exhibition “will allow the creation of a partnership between Ugandan institutions and their Algerian counterparts that display distinguished products of international standards and is an opportunity to get to know and interact with Algerian producers and benefit from their experiences.”

Prior to the inauguration of the exhibition, Mr. Zitouni spoke with Mr. Mwebisa about ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries, during a meeting attended by the Ambassador of Algeria to the Republic of Uganda, Sherif Walid, the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Mawla, and the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hussein Zaoui. .

During the meeting, Zitouni stressed Algeria’s commitment to strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries and encouraging trade exchanges and joint investments in various sectors, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic.

For his part, Mr. Mwebisa stressed that his country will work to provide a suitable environment for business and encourage Algerian investments in Uganda, adding that the doors of the Ugandan market are open to Algerian traders and that his country looks forward to having Algerian products strongly present there.

Zitouni also held discussions with the President of the Uganda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olive Kigongo, where he stressed the importance of enhancing trade exchange and encouraging joint investments, for the benefit of the economies of the two countries.

In turn, Kigongo praised the friendly relations and close cooperation between the two countries, and expressed the Chamber’s readiness to support efforts to enhance economic cooperation and facilitate trade and investments.

Mr. Zitouni arrived today, Friday, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on a working visit to the Republic of Uganda, accompanied by a delegation of businessmen, with the aim of strengthening economic relations between the two countries and supporting the access of Algerian products to African markets.
