The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdel Hafeez Hani, revealed today, Wednesday, that the goal of importing frozen white meat, such as chicken, is to stabilize prices and protect the breeder.
The Minister of Agriculture also indicated in a statement on the sidelines of a national forum on the plan to protect the olive tree, that the amount of imported meat will not be large, saying, “We will not bring billions of tons of meat.” It will be temporary, waiting for local production to be available within 45 and 50 days.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development allowed the import of frozen white meat, “chicken,” from last Sunday until September 20.
The ministry’s statement said: “It was calculated within the framework of supplying national markets with food products. Especially white meat. I am honored to inform you of the opening of the import of frozen white meat.”
Regarding filing files, the Ministry of Agriculture indicated that applications for health licenses to import white meat are made through the pslmadr.aosadz portal. This starts from the 10th of September until the 20th of the same month.
The statement also added that import procedures and the formation of new application files and books of conditions related to the import of white meat are available. It can be downloaded via the pslmadr.gov.dz portal
Those wishing to import this type of meat must attach application files for health licenses to import meat to an upcoming annual program.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that the files were incomplete and did not comply with the regulatory procedures established by the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade. Likewise, files submitted outside the deadlines will not be taken into consideration.
