Washington affirms its support for de Mistura’s efforts to resolve the issue of Western Sahara – the Algerian dialogue

The United States affirmed its full support for the efforts of the United Nations to advance the ongoing political process in Western Sahara.
This came, according to what was published by the US State Department in a statement by the Deputy Principal Spokesperson, Fidan Patel, on its website yesterday, Friday, during the meeting of the Deputy Minister, Wendy Sherman, with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura.
On the occasion, Sherman welcomed the “seeing” of the Personal Envoy to intensify his consultations for this purpose.
The two sides discussed “the importance of building on the momentum of the substantive consultations hosted by the United Nations last March to achieve a lasting political solution for the people of Western Sahara,” according to US diplomacy.
