US State Department spokesman: “America welcomes Algeria’s accession to the Security Council” – Al-Hiwar Algeria

US State Department spokesman Samuel Warburg said, “The United States of America supports Algeria’s accession to the UN Security Council.”

In a statement to the media mission sent to New York, the spokesman expressed his country’s welcome of Algeria’s participation in the Security Council and in various international institutions, bodies and committees.

Warburg indicated that the United States of America agrees with Algeria regarding pursuing the diplomatic and peaceful path to resolve conflicts.

The speaker also praised the important role that Algeria plays for the security and stability of the region, highly appreciating Algeria’s efforts in resolving the crisis in Niger.

It is noteworthy that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, spoke in New York with a number of his counterparts and high officials on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
