University of Continuing Training…an open meeting between media professionals and media students – New Algeria
University organized Genesis On Thursday, May 2, 2024, there was an open meeting with media students, which brought together representatives of the media family and students of the university’s media and communication sciences major, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, which falls on May 3rd of each year. This meeting was attended by the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Abdel-Jabbar Daoudi, the advisor in charge of media, as well as many actors in the media field in addition to students of media and communication sciences at the University of Continuing Education, where the meeting constituted an opportunity to communicate and exchange experiences and opinions among those present.
For his part, the University Director, Professor Dr. Yahya Jaafari, in his welcoming speech, touched on the experience of the University of Continuing Education in purposeful scientific media, through the specialized contents of radio and television sessions, and its pioneering role in distance education, especially with regard to audio and audio-visual lessons.
Professor Dr. Yahya Jaafari also announced that the university’s television session will return to broadcasting in the near future via the Al-Ma’rifa Channel of the Public Television Corporation.
In a speech by the media advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Abdul-Jabbar Daoudi, he expressed the highest meanings of gratitude and appreciation for the efforts made by the university’s media and scientific family, especially since “the professor has the task of transferring knowledge and acquisitions to the future frameworks of the nation, namely the students.”
For his part, the Director of the National Higher School of Journalism and Sciences confirmed media Professor Dr. Haj Salem Attia emphasized the responsibility placed on media professionals in selecting and conveying information in accordance with the professional rules imposed. The head of the field of humanities and social sciences, Professor Dr. Qalati Abdel Karim, moved towards valuing the role of higher education undertaken by the University of Continuing Training in the field of media and communication, as it witnessed the graduation of the first batch of The master’s level enhances the training capabilities provided by the distance education system by exploiting electronic educational platforms.
By the way, the interventions witnessed the presentation of the technical framework adopted in the production of pedagogical contents directed to distance education, as Dr. Zein al-Din Safaj focused on the university’s efforts in training professors, both in the field of designing lessons and converting them into broadcastable formats by developing theatrical scenarios that give the media dimension expected from Lessons, which is the training effort that it undertook and allowed the training of all of its permanent professors in addition to professors at other universities, as the number of beneficiaries of the training process reached up to 500. Mr. Thus, the University of Continuing Education has laid the foundation that allows for the expansion of distance education.
