Unanimous approval of the laws for the written and electronic press and audiovisual activity – Algerian Dialogue

Members of the National Assembly approved the texts of the two laws related to the written press and the electronic press, as well as audiovisual activity, today, Tuesday.
Members of the National Assembly voted on the texts of the two laws related to the written press and the electronic press, as well as to audiovisual activity, with 118 “yes,” 0 “no,” and 0 “abstentions.”
Today, the National Assembly held a public session, devoted to approving: the disputed provision between the two chambers of Parliament in the text of the law relating to forests and forest resources (Articles 127 and 163 thereof), a draft law relating to the written press and the electronic press, and a draft law relating to audio-visual activity.
The Minister of Communications, Mohamed Laqab, said, “The media sector was crowned with an excellent law and the best law in the history of independent Algeria.”
In a speech following the approval of the texts of the two laws in the National Assembly, today, Tuesday, the minister indicated that the two texts clearly regulate the profession, and their articles are clear and not subject to interpretation.
