Traders’ attendance on Eid days – Algerian Dialogue

The Directorates of Trade and Export Promotion have written a special program to support merchants during the days of Eid al-Fitr, by recruiting merchants and economic operators to provide services.

6 thousand merchants during Eid in 5 states
The state directorates of trade and export promotion of the Oran region have employed more than 6,000 merchants and economic operators to ensure continuity during the days of Eid al-Fitr, according to the regional director of trade and export promotion of the Oran region, Jilani Seboui.
The spokesman said today, Saturday, that 6,090 merchants and economic operators in the states of Oran, Mostaganem, Sidi Bel Abbes, Ain Temouchent and Tlemcen have been harnessed to ensure continuity and provide various services that consumers need during the days of Eid al-Fitr.
According to Jalani Saboui, 714 bakeries, 3,923 merchants specialized in selling food, vegetables, and fruits, 56 mills, 25 dairy factories, and two units specialized in producing and marketing mineral water, in addition to a number of gas stations, butcher shops, and others, were harnessed.
According to the official, the trade directorates of the Oran region employed 236 supervisory agents to monitor the extent of implementation of field maintenance programs in all the provinces of the region.

6,189 merchants during Eid in 7 eastern states
Seven eastern states affiliated with the Regional Directorate for Trade and Export Promotion in the Batna region have employed 6,189 economic operators and merchants to ensure continuity during Eid al-Fitr, according to the regional director of the sector, Mohamed Sardoun, today, Saturday.

The spokesman confirmed that he “recruited in the seven states: Batna, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Tebessa, Constantine, Biskra, and Ouled Jalal, 779 bakeries, 3,265 dealers and merchants in general nutrition, vegetables, and fruits, and 2,067 other dealers active in various fields, including services, mechanics, and others.”
Regarding the production units, the same departments employed 21 dairy factories out of a total of 51 milk factories operating in the region, and 45 mills out of a total of 92, in addition to 12 mineral water production units out of 85 units in the region, according to Mr. Sardon.
In addition to what was mentioned above, the services of the Regional Directorate of Trade for the Batna district recruited 288 supervisory agents from among 1,109 active agents in the seven states, who were entrusted with the task of monitoring the extent of the commitment of forced traders to implement and respect the prescribed shift schedule during the days of Eid al-Fitr, in order to ensure the continuity of services for citizens and the regular supply of the market with widely consumed items.
