Towards the establishment of scientific and technological poles to improve the ranking of universities

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, revealed a project for the realization of scientific and technological poles in Algiers, and in the east and west of Algeria, which includes several universities and higher schools, which will allow improving the visibility and classification of Algerian universities.

During his chairing, on Monday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, a remote meeting with the heads of the regional seminars of “East-West-Central” universities, and directors of university institutions, touched on the measures that must be followed for the success of university admission 2023-2024.

Badari gave his instructions to the person in charge of running the National Office for University Services to provide university transportation throughout the national territory, to transport students, especially since the university educational facilities will extend their working hours until ten o’clock at night, to make the university a center for scientific and research radiation.

The same speaker referred to the importance he attaches to digitization, and the appreciation of the gains that have been achieved, stressing the redoubling of efforts to be in conformity with international references and international standards and standards. He called on the principals to intensify and enlist to achieve the aspired goals, while emphasizing the freedom of initiative, and the importance of dialogue with the social partners of the professors’ representatives. students, as well as workers.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research also highlighted that education in the English language will be gradual, and will be limited to technological disciplines, adding, regarding the goal of opening university institutions until ten o’clock at night, it is to ensure the continuation of educational and scientific activity, libraries, business incubators, laboratories, entrepreneurial homes, not teaching.

Badari stated that distance education will allow a student residing in Tamanrasset, for example, to register and study at Bab Ezzouar University while he is residing in Tamanrasset, stressing that it is forbidden for all university institutions to deal with paper media, in addition to strengthening the cybersecurity of university institutions.

The minister revealed a project for the realization of a scientific and technological pole in Algiers, which includes the University of Bab Ezzouar, the University of Algiers 1 and several higher schools in the capital, in addition to the establishment of other scientific and technological poles in the east and west of Algeria, which will allow improving the visibility and classification of Algerian universities.

And the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research ordered that university residences in the South and the Great South be provided with air conditioners, starting from this academic year, indicating that a meeting will be held before the end of next October to discuss the problems of the universities of the South and the Great South.
