Towards a promising start for the iron ore production project with the support of youth and new specializations – Algerian Dialogue

The General Director of the National Iron and Steel Company “Ferral”, Reda Belhaj, confirmed that the production of iron ore in Algeria will begin at the end of 2025. He stressed the importance of training young people to ensure the continuity of the project through young frameworks capable of supervising the stages of iron extraction and manufacturing.

In a statement to Radio Tindouf, Belhaj indicated that work on establishing the first iron production unit in the state of Tindouf had begun since last July. This ambitious project will create more than 100 new job opportunities that will be announced soon, and include specializations such as mapping geology, laboratory technology, and ore processing, in addition to jobs in the fields of quality control, health, and environment.

The Viral Complex also seeks to strengthen cooperation with the vocational training sector in Tindouf, with the aim of filling the gap in specializations that are not available in the region through training programs directed at youth.

On the other hand, at the conclusion of the national forum on Gara Gilat and youth, the Minister of Youth in charge of the Supreme Youth Council, Mustafa Hidawi, confirmed that the latest recommendations aim to fully integrate youth into the project. He explained that the next stage will witness the signing of important agreements with various bodies and sectors to enhance youth participation in this vital project.
