Toll: thwarted attempt to bring in 8 quintals and 74 kilograms of Moroccan kif – Algerian Dialogue

During the period from 20 to 26 September 2023, units and detachments of the People’s National Army carried out many operations that resulted in qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism, constant vigilance and readiness of our armed forces throughout the national territory.

In this context and in continuation of the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of the People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the military regions, arrested (55) drug dealers and thwarted attempts to introduce (08) quintals and (74) kilograms of The processed kif crossed the border with Morocco, while (2.6) kilograms of cocaine and (170,174) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.

In Tamanrasset, In Gezam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and Djanet, detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (320) people and seized (12) vehicles, (336) electric generators, (217) hammers, and (03) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of Of explosives, blasting equipment, and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting operations, while (25) other people were arrested, and (03) Kalashnikov-type machine guns, (27) hunting rifles, (170) quintals of tobacco, and (336,851) were seized. Border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs, also thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel estimated at 32,582 liters in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras, and El Tarf.

On the other hand, joint detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (562) illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.
