The women’s national team begins its preparatory camp ahead of the double confrontation against Burundi for the final round of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Morocco, on Monday.

Technical director Farid Ben Stiti summoned 25 players in anticipation of the date when they will join the national teams preparation center in Sidi Moussa starting today.

The Algerian Football Federation revealed that the women’s national team will face its Burundian counterpart in the two matches at Nelson Mandela Stadium in the capital.

The first match will be held on Thursday, at eight in the evening, while the second match is scheduled for next Monday at five in the evening.

FAF allocated Tuesday to the national media in order to interact with the national team members, as the training session will be preceded by a mixed zone, starting at 15:45.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian women succeeded in overcoming the Ugandan team in the first round, at the end of last September.

Lina’s teammates returned with a valuable victory from Uganda in the first leg (2-1) before they tied in the second leg with a goal to match at Miloud Haddi Stadium in Oran.

Qualifying for the 15th edition of the “CAN”, scheduled to be held in Morocco next year, is the top priority of the head of the women’s football development department and the coach of the first team, Farid Ben Stiti.

The Green Women failed to reach the finals of the last edition (2022), which also took place in Morocco, after being eliminated by the South African national team in the second round of the qualifiers.

The former federal office, led by resigned President Fred Zvezev, appointed a bright name in the global feminist scene in the person of Fred Steiti in order to achieve the goal.

Ben Stiti previously led prominent European clubs in women’s football, such as Olympique Lyonnais, which won four French League championships with him, and also led them to reach the Champions League final.
