The water level of the “Kadia Al-Rusfa” dam in the municipality of Beni Shuaib, in the state of Tissemsilt, has risen by more than 2.5 million cubic meters thanks to the recent rainfall that the region has witnessed, according to the director of water resources in the state.
Yassin Bali explained that, thanks to this additional amount, the aforementioned dam now stores 10 million cubic meters of water, knowing that its carrying capacity is equivalent to 66 million cubic meters.
Based on the abundance of dam water, the drinking water distribution program was modified during the holy month of Ramadan, in coordination with the Algerian water services, according to the same official.
The same official stated that the state of Tissemsilt is supplied by two dams: “Kudiyet Al-Rusfa”, which supplies 17 municipalities out of a total of 22 local communities designated by the state, while the remaining five municipalities are supplied by the “Dardar” dam located in the neighboring state of Ain Defla.
The state also has two artesian groundwater wells with a production capacity of approximately four thousand cubic meters per day, from which the municipalities of El Malaab and Ouled Bassam are supplied.
The state of Tissemsilt produces approximately 42 thousand cubic meters of water per day, and this is through the “Kudiyet Al-Rusfa” dam with 27 thousand cubic meters, the “Dardar” dam with approximately 9 thousand cubic meters, and groundwater from artesian wells, springs, and others, with more than 5 thousand cubic meters. .
