The SCLCO overthrows two Moroccans who lead an international criminal network to smuggle people to Europe.

At the beginning of this week, the Central Office for Combating Organized Crime overthrew an international, cross-border criminal network, led by two Moroccan nationals, that specializes in organizing secret trips and smuggling people from the western borders of the country towards Europe.

Investigative work, supported by intensive field investigations conducted by national security investigators, under the supervision of the competent prosecution, culminated in putting an end to the organized criminal activity of this network, thwarting its criminal plans, arresting 12 people, including a woman, and seizing and recovering sums of money in national and hard currency, as well as luxury tourist vehicles. And another was used as a means of transportation to carry out its criminal activities.

The suspects were presented, on 04-09-2023, before the Public Prosecutor of the Department of Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime at the specialized criminal pole of the Sidi M’hamed Court, on the issue of forming an organized criminal network across national borders, to commit the felony of smuggling migrants in exchange for obtaining financial and material benefits, A money laundering misdemeanor and a violation of exchange and capital movement to and from abroad.
