The first meeting of the Rif National Party outside Europe began today, Saturday, in Algiers, under the title “The Republic of the Rif and the Right to Regain Independence.”
This meeting witnessed the participation of the Minister Delegate in the South African government, the head of the Community Party, and several political parties supporting the Rif issue from the State of Mozambique, representatives from the Republic of Western Sahara, political parties from Algeria, and parliamentarians.
On the same occasion, a member of the Rif National Party, Mr. Youba El Ghaddioui, delivered a speech in which he praised “the firm positions and principles of Algeria, which was and still is a stronghold for the revolutionaries.”
He stressed that this meeting is “the first for the Rif National Party outside Europe,” expressing his hope that the party will hold “a meeting on the soil of the Rif, which is a dream that will come true.”
He added, “We want to regain our legitimate right that was taken from us by force, and this is not a new demand,” stressing that the party “will not stop demanding this right.”
He continued, saying, “The Republic of the Rif was never part of Morocco, and Morocco was never on the side of the Rif people defending their land.”
