The Prime Minister confirms: What is coming is better for Algeria

Prime Minister, Ayman Ben Abdel Rahman, confirmed, Thursday, in Algiers, that the program of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has become “a tangible and tangible reality confirmed by daily achievements and positive indicators in all fields.”

In his response to the interventions and concerns of members of the National Assembly during their discussion of the government’s general policy statement, Ben Abdel Rahman said, “The President of the Republic’s program has become a tangible reality and a reality confirmed by daily achievements and positive indicators in all fields, despite the current international circumstances,” noting that “the coming is better.” As for Algeria, we will not accept anything but the best for Algeria.”

In this regard, he renewed “the government’s commitment to redouble its efforts in order to continue the field implementation of the commitments of the President of the Republic, in service of the lofty goals and so that we may live up to the aspirations of our citizens and our great people in building a new, strong, secure, stable and prosperous Algeria.”

He explained that the government “is working hard to achieve a shift from the approach of justifying the status quo that prevailed previously to the approach of effectively and quickly addressing the concerns and demands of citizens,” declaring that “a digital platform will be created at the level of the Ministry of Relations with Parliament that links all ministerial sectors as well as the office of the Prime Minister.” “In order to ensure the required modernity and effectiveness.”

When addressing the most prominent concerns raised by members of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said that they focused on the issue of purchasing power and controlling the prices of widely consumed items.

In this regard, he stressed that “within the framework of efforts to support purchasing power and improve the citizen’s standard of living, the government has relied on a number of economic measures and mechanisms that are evident through the development of the level of direct social transfers, which will rise from 2,714 billion DZD in 2023 to 2,895 billion DZD in 2024, which is equivalent to 19.17 million DZD.” A percent of the state budget in 2024 is directed to support milk, grains, oil, and sugar, connect to electricity, gas, and water, and support housing programs.

The government also took – as he added – “a set of measures in order to control price stability, as the government, within the framework of combating practices related to illegal speculation, relied on setting profit margins for dry beans at various stages of production and wholesale and retail distribution, and the mechanism will be introduced in the coming days.”

Among the measures to improve the purchasing power of the citizen – according to the Prime Minister – is “valuing wages and salaries for employees and retirees’ pensions, as wages were raised for the benefit of more than 2.8 million employees over a period of two years,” in addition to “reducing the tax burden by reviewing the tax scale on gross income over The category of wage earners and exempting those whose monthly income is less than 30 thousand dinars from paying this tax.

In the field of employment, the Prime Minister stated that, as of the end of last September, “nearly 134,000 job offers had been registered, i.e. an increase of 38 percent, and an increase in appointments was recorded by 27 percent, reaching 232,579 appointments.”

The Prime Minister also spoke about the higher education and scientific research sector, referring to the measures initiated by the government that allowed the employment of 10,320 professors in various categories from among the category of doctoral and master’s degree holders in the first process of its kind since independence that allowed for raising the supervision rate in universities.

In the field of health, the government took the initiative – as he said – to implement a “strict and new work program to improve the level of health services in all regions of the country while achieving a fair and balanced distribution of available resources.”

Regarding the aspect related to freedom of the press and freedom of access to information, Bin Abdul Rahman stressed that “the provisions of the new organic law related to the media and other draft laws that are being discussed in Parliament guarantee them to a greater extent.”

In this context, he stated that the government “has begun implementing a new communication strategy based on organizing meetings between officials in ministerial departments and the media to bring the source of information closer to journalists and empower citizens with their right to obtain information.”
