And the President of the Republic stated, during his periodic meeting with representatives of the national media, broadcast yesterday evening, Saturday, on television and radio channels, that “the latest report of the interests of the Ministries of Justice and Finance shows that the value of looted funds and property that were recovered from inside and outside the country exceeded $ 22 billion.” The investigation of corruption cases takes place on a daily basis and is not limited to old files, but also includes new cases.
He stated that the state “was able to recover a lot of looted money and property” and that work is continuing in this regard, noting that “not all investigations have been disclosed, but the state is keen to disclose everything that has been looted.”
In the same context, the President of the Republic said that “investigations showed, for example, that the value of the Oran factory that was recovered was approximately 750 million euros.”
In the same context, President Tebboune touched on “the involvement of European countries with Algeria within the course of the ongoing investigation into corruption cases,” stressing that “many countries have moved with Algeria to return the value of the looted funds.”
He emphasized that “the money that was recovered was done intelligently, and that the property abroad will be recovered, and this is a foregone conclusion. At home, the work is continuing, and the state will be able to access everything that was looted and stored earlier.”
And he concluded by saying: “Even if matters are prolonged because of the banking system, the important thing is that this money will not be lost.”
