The National People’s Assembly…a training course for the benefit of a second group of representatives of the Sahrawi National Council – Al-Hiwar Algeria

Today, Sunday, at the annex of the National People’s Assembly in Algiers, the activities of a training course for a second batch of deputies of the National Council of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic began, which will extend until October 18.
In his speech on the occasion, the Sahrawi Ambassador, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, praised Algeria’s role in defending the Sahrawi people and its support for their institutions, and “this is reflected in the keenness of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, led by its president, Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, to form Sahrawi representatives and provide all appropriate conditions for that.”
Talib Omar also appreciated, “the support provided by Algeria, through its advocacy in favor of the Sahrawi cause and the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, from the highest international platforms.”
In turn, the head of the Sahrawi parliamentary delegation, Salek Mohamed Al-Mahdi, praised the “success” of the previous session from which the first group of representatives of the Sahrawi National Council benefited, expressing his wishes for the success of this session.
For her part, Parliamentarian Hajira Abbas – during her announcement, on behalf of the President of the National People’s Assembly, of the launch of this training session – affirmed Algeria’s “steadfast position” towards just issues, most notably the Sahrawi issue, stressing the need to provide full support to it.
The program of the training course, which will be organized from October 8 to 18, includes lectures and practical workshops conducted by parliamentary representatives, according to a planned programme. Visits to a number of state institutions will also be organized for the participating delegation, to learn about them and their working mechanisms.
