The National Maritime Transport Corporation for Passengers: A new electronic platform for travel ticket reservations coming soon – Algerian Dialogue

The Director General of the National Corporation for Maritime Transport for Passengers, Abdel Hakim Bouzaher, revealed that a new electronic platform for travel ticket reservations at the Corporation will enter service soon.
Bouzaher said, in a press conference held at the headquarters of the Maritime Corporation, today, Thursday: “We are about to receive a new digital platform that allows citizens to use their shared bank cards to purchase travel tickets via the Internet.”
In response to travelers waiting for reservations to open for the month of October, the official explained that reservations “will open gradually in the coming days, once the new platform, which was designed with 100% Algerian competencies, is implemented,” without specifying a date for that.
The first official of the institution explained the “positive” numbers achieved by the public institution in terms of activities and revenues as well, noting that the institution transported approximately 383,000 passengers and more than 100,000 vehicles through 359 flights between national ports and European destinations, such as in the period from January to August 2023. Alicante and Barcelona (Spain), Sete and Marseille (France) and Genoa (Italy).
In the same context, Bouzaher said: “We faced some technical problems in some ships because two transport ships were undergoing maintenance,” announcing that many ships will undergo maintenance work in the fall, where activity will decrease.
The “Tariq bin Ziyad” ship will also undergo maintenance, renovation and modernization work in the workshops of the National Ship Repair Corporation, which will allow the ship to provide “the best conditions for travel,” starting from the end of May 2024.
In addition to the four ships owned by the National Corporation, a fifth ship will be chartered by the National Corporation for Maritime Transport for passengers in order to strengthen its transportation capabilities starting next summer season.
