The National Gendarmerie clarifies the prohibition of motorcycles and noisy cars in the Algerian capital – Al-Hiwar

Major Samir Bushahit, head of the Traffic Coordination Office at the General Command of the National Gendarmerie, confirmed today, Sunday, Motorcycles with engines over 125 cubic centimeters, in addition to vehicles that make loud noises, will be prohibited from driving between 10 at night and 3 in the morning. Starting this Sunday.

In statements broadcast by Radio One, Bushahit explained that the measure came in accordance with the two decisions issued by the governor of the capital, where the first stipulated the prohibition of motorcycles whose engines exceed 125 cubic centimeters in volume, starting from ten o’clock at night (22:00) until three in the morning (03:00). Sa), while the second decision included preventing the movement of cars whose sounds cause disturbance to pedestrians and residents, and which were known to introduce modifications to them without the approval of experts.

In addition, the National Gendarmerie units recorded, across the jurisdiction, during the last 48 hours, which coincided with the blessed Eid al-Fitr, 38 traffic accidents that claimed the lives of 16 people and injured 87 others.

In this regard, Bushahit confirmed that most of these traffic accidents occurred on non-double roads as a result of collisions between vehicles, as well as deviations due to failure to reduce speed on turns and slopes and dangerous overtaking.

Heavy penalties for violators

Boushait stressed that the two decisions related to motorcycles and disturbing vehicles will be implemented starting this Sunday, and every violator of the two decisions will have his vehicle placed in the crowds for eight days, and in the event of a repeat of the violation, the period will be increased to 15 days with the costs of the crowds.
