The National Council for Human Rights, in coordination with the Middle East Office of Penal Reform International, organized a training workshop yesterday in Algiers on “Project Preparation Skills for Civil Society,” according to a statement by the Council.
The same source added that this two-day workshop, in which approximately 20 collective organizations active in the fields of human rights and frameworks from the National Observatory for Civil Society and the Supreme Council for Youth participate, was supervised by the Secretary-General of the National Council for Human Rights and the Regional Director for the Middle East of the International Penal Reform Organization.
On this occasion, the representative of the Council stressed – according to the same statement – the importance of the topic of this training workshop, which he considered “an episode in a series of training courses for the benefit of civil society, in line with the directions of the United Nations, which works to encourage civil society organizations to work in a participatory framework to serve human rights issues.”
In the same context, he added that the National Council for Human Rights works within “a regulatory framework with institutional mechanisms that share its goals, including in particular the National Observatory for Civil Society and the Supreme Council for Youth,” noting that “the ultimate goal of this cooperation is to help civil society organize His field work is part of purposeful and ambitious projects serving human rights issues.”
For her part, the Regional Director for the Middle East of Penal Reform International praised “the quality of the partnership” between the National Council for Human Rights and Penal Reform International, which aims – as she added – to “promote a culture of human rights within a comprehensive vision that seeks primarily to build and develop the capabilities of civil society.” .
The speaker also focused on “the importance of the mechanism for developing projects and programs specialized in the fields of human rights, which is addressed in the training workshop, while providing a framework for protecting human rights and contributing to their promotion.”
This training workshop mainly addresses the concepts associated with project design, “from collecting information through the main elements of its construction, all the way to writing the project proposal and attracting funding.”
This workshop, which is facilitated by international experts, aims to “develop and build the capabilities of civil society organizations to implement successful projects that will develop human rights and serve issues related to them,” according to the same source.
