The Ministry of National Defense issued a statement about the false news targeting the People’s National Army.
And the statement stated: During a security and monitoring patrol in our territorial waters, a Coast Guard unit belonging to the western waterfront in the 2nd Military Region intercepted on Tuesday evening, August 29, 2023, at 19:47, three (03) jet skis that penetrated our territorial waters, and after launching A voice warning and ordering them to stop several times, which was rejected and even the owners of jet skis made dangerous maneuvers. In view of the fact that this border marine area is known for intense activity of drug smuggling gangs and organized crime, and in the face of the intransigence of the owners of these jet skis, the Coast Guard fired warning shots, and after several attempts, they resorted to shooting at the jet ski, which led to its driver stopping, while the other two flee.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at around 17:00, during another patrol of the Coast Guard, an unidentified body of a male sex with a gunshot wound was recovered. It was transferred to the mortuary of Tlemcen Hospital.
In this context, the Ministry of National Defense calls on the various national media outlets, pioneers of social networks, and citizens not to be led by the malicious news circulating and aiming to harm the honorable image of the People’s National Army.
