The Ministry of National Defense published, in a statement on Wednesday, the weekly operational tally of the People’s National Army during the period from 13 to 19 December 2023, throughout the national territory.
The statement explained that, in the context of the ongoing efforts made to combat terrorism, “detachments of the People’s National Army (08) arrested elements of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory.”
The same statement also added that, within the framework of combating organized crime and continuing the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, “joint detachments of the People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the military regions, arrested (113) drug dealers and thwarted attempts to introduce ( 13 quintals and (51) kilograms of processed kif crossed the border with Morocco, while (162,819) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.”
The Ministry of Defense statement continued: “In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet, detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (31) people and seized (13) vehicles, (66) electric generators, (30) hammers, and (03) metal detectors, in addition to In addition to quantities of explosives, blasting equipment and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (33) other people were arrested and two (02) Kalashnikov machine guns, (07) hunting rifles, (03) automatic pistols, and (24016) were seized. A liter of fuel, (04) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, (11) quintals of tobacco, and (12,698) units of various drinks, and this was during separate operations across the national territory.”
On the other hand, the statement adds, “Joint detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (351) illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.”
