The Minister of Irrigation receives members of Parliament from the states of Bouira and Medea – Algerian Dialogue

Today, Tuesday in Algiers, the Minister of Irrigation, Taha Darbal, received a number of members of Parliament from his two chambers from Bouira and Medea, where he was briefed on a number of concerns of the citizens of these two states related to his sector, according to a ministry statement.
This meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of various central executives and state directors, falls within the framework of periodic working meetings held by the Minister with representatives of the people, in order to optimally address citizens’ concerns and enhance efforts to improve public water service, according to the same source.
By the way, the members of Parliament (the National People’s Assembly and the National Assembly) raised a number of concerns of the residents of Bouira and Medea related to the supply of drinking water, especially in light of the significant decline in the water level of the Kadia Isardun Dam, which supplies a significant number of municipalities in the two states, which has witnessed fluctuations in terms of the distribution of this vital resource. According to the statement.
During the meeting, the Minister provided several explanations to members of Parliament about the various measures taken by the sector in order to improve public water service in the states of Bouira and Medea.
He also gave several directives to the sector’s executives as well as local interests in order to make more efforts to resolve this situation as soon as possible, the statement adds.
Mr. Darbal also ordered accelerating the completion of various ongoing projects and ensuring respect for their implementation deadlines and the quality of the works, while emphasizing the rational exploitation of water.
Finally, the Minister of Irrigation reassured the parliamentarians that “the ministry’s interests are working in full swing to provide a public service worthy of the citizen,” calling for the need for concerted efforts and joint work between his sector and the representatives of citizens by presenting their concerns to embody the principle of bringing the citizen closer to the administration, according to the same source.
