The insurance sector, urbanization, public utilities and the distribution of oil facilities are the focus of the Algerian government meeting – Al-Hiwar

During its meeting today, Wednesday, headed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Nadhir Al-Arbawi, the government studied texts and presentations related to the insurance sector, urban control, modernization of public facilities affiliated with the labor, employment and social security sectors, as well as storage and distribution activities of petroleum products, according to what was stated in a statement by the Prime Minister’s departments, This is its full text:

“Today, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the Prime Minister, Mr. Nadhir Al-Arbawi, chaired a government meeting, devoted to studying a draft law related to insurance in light of the directives given by the President of the Republic during the Council of Ministers meeting on May 22, 2024, related to strengthening the governance and control of the insurance sector, and expanding its fields. To ensure that various new and emerging risks are taken care of, as well as to improve the services provided to insureds, especially by devoting distance selling of insurance products. And digital insurance.

The government also listened to a presentation on urban control and the problem of unfinished buildings, which included several strategic axes to enhance the conformity of projects and ensure harmonious development of urban spaces, providing a modern, functional and sustainable urban environment for citizens, and ensuring the preservation of the national architectural identity.

Within the framework of sectoral presentations related to the status of public services and facilities, the government listened to a presentation on improving and modernizing public facilities affiliated with the labor, employment and social security sectors, which included the measures taken to modernize the provision of services and spread digitization with the aim of combating bureaucracy.

The government continued to study the regulatory framework related to the activities of storing and distributing petroleum products, which aims to encourage competition and upgrade the professionalism of those active in this field.
