The insistence on the need to recover the Algerian archive from France – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia
Participants in a historical symposium on the massacres of May 8, 1945 under the title “So that we do not forget” organized by the Algerian Academy of Citizenship, and hosted by the state of Tizi Ouzou, insisted on the need to retrieve the Algerian archives located in France and write down the history of Algeria in the pens of its people, according to the APS.
In this regard, the President of the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language, Mr. Saleh Belaid, indicated in a speech he delivered on the occasion of the symposium organized at the Regional Museum of the Mujahid, that “the recovery of our archives from France is an urgent matter that we do not overlook,” expressing his fear that “falsification will take place because it It is still in the hands of those who wrote, added, and falsified with a method that obscures the truth and works on distortion and dependence.”
And with the aim of preserving history, especially the history of the liberation revolution, the same official called for paying attention to the subject of national history and keenness to transfer historical facts from their makers, “to take them out of the colonial school.”
For his part, the President of the Algerian Academy for Citizenship, Mr. Ait Houssein Belkacem, insisted on the need to unite to continue building and preserving the homeland from those who aim to stabilize Algeria.
And after mentioning the sacrifices of the Algerian people during the French occupation to restore freedom and national sovereignty, he pointed out that “our country, despite all the difficulties and for decades, has not been able to impose its will on it,” calling for “contributing to strengthening national awareness and closing ranks.” To preserve the homeland from the plots of the plotters.
This symposium also included interventions by Mujahideen and academics, who insisted on the need to retrieve the Algerian archive and record the history of the glorious liberation revolution. They also mentioned the barbarism of the French colonizer who met with bullets, on May 8, 1945, peaceful demonstrations for the independence of Algeria.
