The Greens score a valuable draw against Burkina Faso – Algerian Dialogue
Today, Saturday, the national team snatched a valuable draw against its competitor in the second round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group stage in Côte d’Ivoire. With a score of two goals to match, in the confrontation hosted by Al-Salam Stadium in the Ivorian city of Bouake, at noon today at 15:00 local time.
Burkina Faso striker Mohamed Konate opened the scoring for his country in the 45th minute + 4 of the first half.
At the beginning of the second half, the Greens took control of the course of the match, and Bounedjah’s teammates created many opportunities, which resulted in a goal to equalize the score in the 51st minute of the second half through Bounedjah.
In the 68th minute of the second half, full-back Ait Nouri was blocked inside the operations area, and blocked Burkinabé national team striker Issa Kabore.
Referee Abongile announced a penalty kick for Burkina Faso, scored by striker Bertrand Traoré in the 71st minute of the second half.
National voter Djamel Belmadi continued to play all his offensive cards, including Amin Amoura, Soleimani Islam, Chaybi Fares, and Adam Ounas.
It resulted in striker Bounedjah Baghdad adjusting the score in favor of Al-Khader, in the 90th + 5th minute of the second half.
With this draw, the Greens raised their score to the second point, out of two draws against Angola and Burkina Faso in Group Four.
For reference, on Tuesday, the national team will play the final match of the group stage against Mauritania, to decide the matter of qualifying for the Cannes round of 16.
