The government meeting is studying draft executive decrees related to several sectors – Algerian Dialogue

Today, Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Mr. Nadhir Arbawi, chaired a government meeting that discussed, in a first reading, study and research, a preliminary draft of a law related to insurance, within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, related to the reform of the financial and banking sector, according to what was reported. It contains a statement of the interests of the Prime Minister, the full text of which is:
“Today, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the Prime Minister, Mr. Nadhir Al-Arbawi, chaired a government meeting, which discussed, in a first reading, study and research, a preliminary draft for a law related to insurance, within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic related to reforming the financial and banking sector, and with the aim of adapting the framework.” Legal relevant to ongoing economic reforms.
The proposed text aims to modernize insurance-related legislation and upgrade the governance of this sector, especially by strengthening the control function, as well as laying the legal basis for Takaful insurance and adapting to developments in insurance activity.
The government also studied ways to strengthen the regulatory framework related to how to dispose of seized or confiscated materials within the framework of the prevention of drugs and psychotropic substances, with the aim of strengthening the state’s efforts in the field of combating the smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances and suppressing their illicit trade.
The government has studied a draft executive decree directed at implementing public development projects of economic and social importance in enhancing the quality of neighborhood public service and taking care of citizens’ concerns, in line with the high instructions of the President of the Republic.
