The Foreign Minister holds bilateral meetings with his African counterparts – New Algeria
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed AttafOn Sunday, bilateral talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Timothy Musa Kabbah, who is visiting Algeria as part of participation in the eleventh session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Committee of Ten. For the African Union On Security Council reform scheduled for Monday, according to a ministry statement.
The talks between Attaf and his Sierra Leonean counterpart, whose country chaired the Committee of Ten, allowed “to discuss various aspects related to the organization of this meeting, which falls within the framework of continuing efforts to advance the common African position on Security Council reform in order to push the international community to correct the historical injustice directed at the African continent.” The Ministry’s statement explains.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad met with the Minister in charge of managing the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the State of Libya, Al-Taher Salem Mohammed Al-Baour, who is visiting Algeria as part of participation in the eleventh session of the ministerial meeting of the Committee of Ten of the African Union concerned with Security Council reform.
The statement explained that the talks between the two parties “allowed for consultation on ways to advance the common African position on the issue of Security Council reform in the context of the Committee of Ten meeting, in addition to discussing ways to consolidate bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries at various levels.”
Attaf held bilateral talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Abroad of the Republic of the Congo, Jean-Claude Gakuso, who is on a visit to Algeria as part of participation in the eleventh session of the ministerial meeting of the Committee of Ten of the African Union on Security Council reform.
The meeting allowed – according to the statement – “coordination on the points on the agenda of the ministerial meeting of the Committee of Ten, and also constituted an opportunity to review ways to strengthen relations between the two countries in the future bilateral meetings.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad received the Secretary of State in charge of international bodies in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Marie Cruz Yvona Andam, who is visiting Algeria as part of participation in the eleventh session of the ministerial meeting of the Committee of Ten of the African Union on Security Council Reform.
The meeting constituted, according to the statement, “an opportunity for coordination and consultation regarding the agenda of the Committee of Ten meeting, as well as the exchange of visions and analyzes regarding the most important issues raised on the African scene in the context of the upcoming continental elections.”
