Today, Wednesday, President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a Council of Ministers meeting, devoted to discussing the draft finance law for the year 2024.
The President of the Republic ordered the abolition of the tax on the activity of craftsmen, and all taxes that burden the citizen.
It also stipulated the priority of preserving the purchasing power of citizens, using available methods, taking into account financial balances.
And including the wage increases that were approved during previous Cabinet meetings, starting from the year 2022, with the aim of achieving the implementation of the President’s commitment to reach increases of up to 47 percent in 2024, while taking into account the financial impact resulting from the review of the basic laws for the health, education and higher education sectors.
During this meeting, the completion of 250,000 housing units was recorded, including 100,000 for the social housing formula, and 150,000 subsidies for rural housing.
According to the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting, President Tebboune issued his orders to reduce the value-added tax to the maximum extent, especially on poultry and food production.
The President of the Republic stressed the need to strengthen the will for reform to be comprehensive and effective in various sectors.
