The capital.. Arresting a neighborhood gang and seizing two firearms – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Last week, the Criminal Division of the Second Judicial Police District of Bab Ezzouar put an end to the activity of a neighborhood gang consisting of 12 people between the ages of 21 and 40, who hail from the province of Algiers and neighboring states, active in the field of drug trafficking and spreading terror and fear amid neighborhoods.

The operation came as a result of exploiting information that a person who had been previously prosecuted had trafficked drugs at the level of popular neighborhoods while possessing a firearm. The investigations carried out by investigators of the same interest, under the supervision of the competent prosecution, enabled the identification of the main suspect to be revealed, and his arrest with a member of the gang in case of wear.

The investigation with the main suspect, and the technical investigations made it possible to determine the whereabouts of the remaining 10 suspects, as the surveillance operations carried out by the members of the same interest enabled them to be arrested while they were in possession of prohibited white weapons of various types and types.

The case resulted in the seizure and seizure of two (02) firearms (23) 16 mm live cartridges, white weapons of various types and sizes, an amount of money estimated at 138,500 Algerian dinars from criminal proceeds, a tourist vehicle and 400 grams of drugs.

The suspects were brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Casablanca (Algeria), on 08/06/2023, for the felony of forming a neighborhood gang within a criminal network that tried to spread terror and fear among residential neighborhoods, possession of firearms, prohibited white weapons, and drug trafficking.
