Dr. Abdel Rahman Hadda: Algeria International Exhibition 2025 is a strategic platform for highlighting and embodying the national economic transformation – Algerian dialogue

The expert in economic development, Dr. Abdel Rahman Haddam, stressed that the 56th edition of the Algeria International Exhibition constitutes a pivotal station in the path of the national economic transformation as it coincides with the beginning of a new package of structural reforms that the higher authorities have initiated in the country five years ago led by the President of the Republic, which aims to build a diverse and sustainable economic model, accompanying global changes and establishes an integrated economic system with an outgoing view.
Dr. Haddad said in statements, on Monday, to the “Guest of Al -Sabah” program for the first channel of the Algerian radio that the 2025 edition of the exhibition, organized under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, falls in a context characterized by a dynamic dynamism to accelerate the pace of development of local national production under the slogan “made in Algeria”, through vital sectors such as industry, agriculture, services based on digitization and knowledge economy.
From the interface of display to a strategic tool to highlight the economic transformation
The economist stressed that the exhibition is no longer just a front for the presentation of national production, but rather turned into a strategic platform to enhance the new economic vision of the state, which has begun its features to be formed since the year 2020, especially in the field of transformation towards a productive and integrated economy in global value chains.
In this context, he pointed out that one of the most prominent goals of the new development model is to achieve integration into international value chains, by improving the performance of foreign trade, and diversifying hard currency sources away from excessive dependence on traditional oil revenues.
Diversify the partners according to the principle of “Rabeh-Rabeh-”
Dr. Hadda considered that this year’s version represents an opportunity to expand economic and industrial partnerships with countries that share with Algeria the same visions, especially the Sultanate of Oman, the guest of honor of this session, which is witnessing its economic relations with Algeria an accelerated development, culminating in the signing of cooperation and investment agreements after high -level mutual visits.
He also pointed out that the growth of partnership and cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman also coincides with great opportunities to enhance cooperation with other partners such as Qatar, Türkiye, China, and European Union countries.
The need to accelerate the completion of repairs
Dr. Hadda called for the necessity of accelerating the pace of reforms, especially at the level of infrastructure and logistical, which is a basic pillar of the success of any economic transformation.
Within this perspective, the radio guest highlighted the efforts considered to raise this challenge, including the Investment Law and the One Tribute, the creation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, two preparations for export and import, an effort that is within the desired strategic ambition and to accelerate the pace of economic growth.
In the same context, he valued the role that the National Agency for the Promotion of Investment plays, especially with regard to the settlement of the economic and industrial real estate file and the launch of new mechanisms for its dissolution, stressing that providing a stimulating investment environment is a prerequisite for upgrading the national economy to the level of emerging countries.
Digital and logistical challenges …
The economist pointed to major challenges facing the Algerian economy, most notably the urgent need for a rapid transition towards modern technologies and digitization, especially by employers and industrial institutions in order to achieve the goals of the President of the Republic, foremost of which is raising the contribution of the industry to 15% of the crude domestic product, agriculture to 20%, and digital services to a similar level, according to the province’s high estimates of digitization.
In a related context, Haddah warned against the registered delay in the field of logistical services, which is currently estimated at 40%, compared to the acceptable global rate of 15%, and stressed that this delay requires the relevant national institutions to make additional efforts to improve their performance and contribute effectively to the promotion of foreign trade and the strengthening of Algeria’s position in international markets ..
