Social insurance, higher education, and forestry…on the government table today – New Algeria
At its meeting today, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister, Mr. Nadhir Al-Arbawi, the government studied draft executive and presidential decrees related to social insurance, higher education, and forest wealth, and listened to a presentation on modernizing public facilities affiliated with the justice sector.
According to what was stated in a statement by the Prime Minister’s interests, the following is its full text: “The Prime Minister, Mr. Nadhir Al-Arbawi, chaired, today, Wednesday, December 25, 2024, a government meeting, devoted to studying a preliminary draft of a law amending and completing Law No. 83-11 of July 2, 1983, relating to insurances.” Social Security, which aims to empower women and promote their rights, especially extending the duration of maternity leave, in implementation of the obligations of the President of the Republic.
In the context of reviewing the status of public utility services in various sectors, the government listened to a presentation devoted to identifying the measures taken to develop public utility services related to the justice sector, within the framework of the digital transformation strategy being implemented in line with the profound reforms approved by the President of the Republic in order to modernize justice.
The government has also completed the study of a draft presidential decree specifying the conditions and modalities for accepting foreign students in Algerian institutions of higher education and training, which falls within the framework of the regulatory measures taken to consolidate the openness of the Algerian university and enhance its attractiveness.
Finally, the government researched and studied a draft executive decree specifying the conditions and methods for canceling the classification of lands belonging to the public forest domain, which aims to strengthen measures to protect forest wealth in implementation of the provisions of Law No. 23-21 of December 23, 2023, relating to forests and forest wealth.
