The Information and Traffic Coordination Center of the National Gendarmerie has informed that random parking of cars on the edge of the road within population centers is a traffic violation punishable by law with a minimum fine of 2,500 DZD.

And the National Gendarmerie confirmed in a post on Facebook, “My Way”, on Friday evening, that “there are those who park their cars randomly on the sides of the roads within the population centers, without taking into account the direction of traffic and without taking into account the signs set by the competent authorities.”

She explained that “the vehicle’s stopping position must be in accordance with the direction of traffic, and this is according to the stipulated rules.”

The same interests indicated, “For roads with double-sided traffic, the vehicle should be parked on the right side of the road, with the exception of provisions taken by the competent authority, such as placing signs that prevent or regulate stopping on that side of the road.”

As for “one-way roads, the vehicle should be parked on the right or left side, with the exception of provisions taken by the competent authority (such as placing signs that prevent or regulate stopping on both sides of the road),” the same source adds.

And she emphasized that “stopping or stopping in violation of the previously mentioned rules, except for the provisions taken by the competent authority, is considered a traffic violation stipulated in Article 60 of Executive Decree No. 04-381 amended and supplemented, and punishable by Article 66 / B-7 of Law 01-14 amended and supplemented with a fine of at least 2,500 DZD.
