The recent weather fluctuations caused the closure of several national and state roads due to snow accumulation and rising water levels, according to the state of the roads revealed by the National Gendarmerie.
According to the same authorities, the state of Tizi Ouzou witnessed the closure of 3 roads, as the accumulation of snow caused the closure of the National Road No. 33 at the level of the Assoul region in the municipality of Ait Boumehdi, and the state road No. 100 at the level of the village of Tagamont, the municipality of El Ouadiya, is closed due to soil erosion, while the state road No. 250 on The level of the village of Amghira, the municipality of Ait Khalili, is closed due to high water levels, and the accumulated snow has caused the closure of National Road No. 33 at the level of the Ikokar area, the municipality of Bachloul, and Tikjda, the municipality of El Annam.
As for Jijel Province, high water levels caused the closure of state road No. 137A at the level of the Kabbaba area in the municipality of Salma Ben Ziada, and state road No. 134 at the level of the Bouhaddad area in the municipality of Al-Shaqfa.
In this context, the Meteorological Services revealed the weather forecast for Sunday, which will witness rain in several regions of the country. According to a statement by the same services, the western and central regions of the country will experience rainy weather, while the eastern regions will experience sunny to rainy weather, while temperatures will range. Between 17 and 19 degrees in coastal areas and between 12 and 19 degrees in inland areas, while wind speeds will reach 60 km/h.
As for the southern regions of the country, it will experience sunny weather today, Sunday, with temperatures ranging between 20 and 36 degrees, while wind speeds will reach 50 km/h.
On the other hand, 13 people died from carbon monoxide poisoning during the last two weeks, bringing the toll to 95 victims since the beginning of last October.
According to what was reported by the information officer in the General Directorate of Civil Protection, Youssef Abdat, that during the period between February 22nd and March 7th, 13 deaths from carbon monoxide gas were counted, and 192 people were rescued, bringing the total number since the beginning of the cold season to 95 deaths and 1,878 cases treated.
