Results of Algerian clubs on the first day of African football competitions – Algerian Dialogue

The CS Belouizdad team, the second Algerian representative in the African Football Champions League, was defeated by the guest, Orlando Pirates of South Africa, with a score of (1-2) in the first half (0-2) on Tuesday evening, at the July 5 Stadium, for the first round of the third group, of the continental competition.

The goals of the match were scored by Nkota (5 and 27 minutes) for Orlando Pirates, and Mayo Kanyesa (66 minutes) for Al-Shabab.

As a result of this loss, Al-Aqiba Club is at the bottom of the standings with Abidjan Stadium without a score, while Orlando Pirates leads the group with points with Al-Ahly of Egypt.

And for the same group, the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club (the defending champion) won earlier today over its guest, the Ivorian Abidjan Stadium, with a score of (4-2) in the first half (3-1) at Cairo Stadium, for the first round of the third group as well.

The goals of the match were scored by Kahraba (14 and 49), Afsha (21) and Al-Shahat (26) for Al-Ahly, and the goals were scored at Abidjan Stadium by Kone (30) and Assali (55).

In the second round, scheduled for December 6 and 7, CS Belouizdad will travel to Côte d’Ivoire to face Abidjan Stadium.

For his part, the other Algerian football representative in the African Champions League, Mouloudia Algiers, achieved a valuable draw against TP Mazembe with a score of (0-0).

To calculate the first round for the first group, today, Tuesday, in Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

In the second match of the same group, Tanzania’s Young Africans was defeated by Al Hilal of Sudan (0-2) scored by Adama Coulibaly (63rd minute) and Yasser Al Muzamil (90th minute).

After this round was held, Al-Hilal of Sudan leads the group with 3 points, ahead of Mouloudia Alger and TP Mazembe (1 N), respectively, while Young Africans is at the bottom of the standings without a score.

Mouloudia Algiers will play its second match of the competition in Algeria against Tanzania’s Young Africans without the presence of the public, while Sudan’s Al Hilal will host its Congolese rival, TP Mazembe, between December 6 and 8, 2024.

The first and second place finishers from each group qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition. (Waj)
