Reservation of two quintals of Moroccan kif in Bechar – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The regional authority to combat illegal drug trafficking in Bechar managed this week to overthrow an organized criminal network consisting of 3 people and seize 194.6 kg of treated kif.
The merits of the case, according to the General Directorate of National Security, today, Friday, are due to “the exploitation of information by the authority about members of a criminal network, between the ages of 49 and 65, who were planning to smuggle a quantity of drugs coming from the western borders of the homeland.”
Careful investigations made it possible to locate the truck transporting the goods and to find on board the amount of drugs estimated at 194.6 kg of treated kif, which was tightly camouflaged with the truck’s chassis, and an amount of money in the national currency estimated at more than 345 million centimes.
Investigations revealed that members of the criminal network used forged driving licenses in their transportation, in addition to forging the base frame of the truck.
The suspects were brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Bashar Court for the felony of illegally possessing and importing drugs for the purpose of selling and placing for sale and purchase within the framework of a smuggling-organized criminal group with a degree of danger that threatens national security, the national economy and public health.
