Recovering 700 stolen cars thanks to the automatic number plate reader – Al-Hiwar Algeria

The Director of Public Security at the General Directorate of National Security, First Brigadier General of Police, Nait Al-Hussein Ahmed, confirmed the implementation of a security plan in line with the privacy of the holy month of Ramadan, by changing the work pattern, as well as intensifying the security presence and surveillance patrols, especially in places and spaces that know a large movement of citizens.

Nayat Al-Hussein Ahmed explained, during his stay as a guest this Sunday on the “Sabah Guest” program of the first radio channel, that the process of examining violations through the video surveillance system falls within the framework of the new strategy adopted by the General Directorate of National Security through modernization and modernization of the means of monitoring violations.

The guest of the morning announced the existence of an automatic reader for number plates attached to police cars linked to gray cards, as this device, which has been in operation since 2021, allows monitoring all stolen cars declared by the national security interests. It also allows detecting cars with forged number plates.

The same spokesman explained that the automatic reader for numbering plates is circulated at the level of the various states of the country, as this device allowed during the year 2022 to recover 700 stolen cars.

With regard to the strategy used to reduce traffic accidents, the Director of Public Security at the General Directorate of National Security revealed a work program for the year 2023 that includes the aspect of modernization, as well as the various activities and awareness-raising campaigns carried out by the police.

Nait Al-Hussein revealed that the security services, between January 01 and February 28, 2023, seized about 671 quintals of basic materials destined for speculation.
