Rakrokh gives the signal to launch projects to relieve traffic congestion

On Tuesday, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Installations, Lakhdar Rakhroukh, gave the signal for the launch of three structured projects at the level of the state of Algiers, which are projects that will reduce traffic congestion and relieve congestion in a number of municipalities of the capital.
Rakhroukh said, in a press statement, after inspecting a number of road projects in Algiers, accompanied by the governor of the state, Mohamed Abdelnour Rabhi, that these structured projects, the launch signal of which was given today, “must be delivered within the deadlines,” which range between 8 and 14 months. In order to “accelerate the process of loosening the noose on the capital, in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”
In this context, the Minister inspected the project for the second part of the road linking Ben Aknoun (July 5) and Kharaisia, which would relieve the bottleneck in many municipalities, especially the municipalities of Ashour, Draria, Baba Ahsan and Kharaisia.
According to the clarifications provided on the occasion, this road, a large part of which passes through the lands of “Donia Park,” includes a number of major artistic installations, such as bridges. This project is divided into three parts, with the third part being launched soon.
Rakhroukh stressed “the necessity of handing over all parts of this project before the end of 2024,” given its importance in eliminating the stranglehold on a number of municipalities with large populations, and also because the project was handed over by mutual consent to the “Cosidar” Foundation, which is one of the largest companies in Algeria in this field.
The minister also called for the delivery of the second part, which connects the municipalities of Ashour and Draria, “before April 2024.” In turn, the Governor of Algiers stressed the necessity of handing over parts of this project gradually in order to accelerate the benefit from it.
On the other hand, Rakhroukh gave the signal for the launch of the project to dual-link National Road No. 63 linking Bir Khadem and Sahoula, including the rehabilitation of the transformer located at the level of National Road No. 01.
In this context, the Minister emphasized that this project will be delivered in one go because it is an integrated project and also to avoid creating new traffic jams on parts of the road.
The Minister highlighted that this road contributes to alleviating traffic on National Road No. 01, which receives more than 100,000 cars daily.
In the municipality of Sharaga, the Minister also gave the signal for the launch of the ground tunnel project at the level of National Road No. 41, which includes an entrance to the new military hospital for mothers and children and the crossroads.
