President Tebboune’s goal is Algeria’s strategic independence

oussama

The Algerian News Agency said in its telegram, on Tuesday, that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has one goal, or rather a single indicator, that has now begun to emerge: Algeria’s strategic independence.

The following is the full text of the Algerian News Agency cable:

“Algeria has returned to the forefront. This assertion, which he often makes, only acquired its full meaning during the years of Tebboune’s presidency. As the months passed, Algeria was able to raise its voice, its diplomacy became stronger, and its international proposal more influential.

Algeria returning to the forefront is an Algeria that disturbs. This assertion is also true, as the two are inherent to each other. In the illusion of power that the old regime boasted of for two decades, the painful reality of the international balance of power was not in favor of the emergence of an audible, present, and patriotic Algeria to the point that Algeria lost its influence and became a mere “paper tiger.”

Since the emergence of the “New Algeria,” which adopted the method of estrangement adopted by a President of the Republic who is firm on principles, courageous in his positions, and pragmatic in his actions, Algerian diplomacy has broken the shackles of stagnation. From reaction, it became proactive without caring about what they say because by trying to please Western and Eastern powers, Algeria did not receive foreign direct investments, commitments, recognition, strategic alliances, or even the respect it deserved as a nation.

Certainly, she launched some criticisms that she described as superficial, tense, and direct. Presidential diplomacy was not understood in its essence, nor even in its long-term vision. At a time of assertion of power, when flexing muscles has become a necessity and not just a position, defending the survival of a state, its sovereignty, and its room for maneuver is not an easy task.

From the Arab Summit to the International Gas Forum, through many international and even sporting events, such as the Mediterranean Games and the African Nations Championship, all of these stages were stages in order to put Algeria back on the world map. The more Algeria regains its vital space, the more hostility towards our country and its president, the leader who accepted the imbalance to impose his vision, will increase. In the words of the Moroccan novelist: “Diplomacy always fails when the balance of power is balanced.” “We have never seen the stronger accept the diplomatic proposals of the other.”

This external hostility, which is circulated internally by supporters of stagnation, by those lobbies and pressure groups that do not want to see the launch or completion of any project, the success of any reform, the creation of any change, or the revival of any dynamism. They only want stagnation and for Algeria to be content with the secondary role that global geopolitics gives it, without uttering a word, without protesting and without raising its voice.

Pushing the limits of what is possible in international relations requires great flexibility and courage. Going against the mainstream that protects the Zionist entity, in order to preserve humanity in Palestine, is a way not to deny our revolutionary identity based on freedom and justice. To stand firm within the United Nations in the face of those who ask us to remain silent – for our own sake – is an act of defiance against asymmetric diplomacy. Being strong except with the strong has become a belief based on conviction.

In sum, President Tebboune has never searched for international prestige, but rather has one goal, or rather a single indicator, that has now begun to emerge, which is Algeria’s strategic independence, as the pursuit of strategic independence in the energy, food, water, military, industrial, and private facilities fields does not stop. In an unstable world, no country is safe from extinction, even if it has a constitution, flag, and borders. No people can guarantee their survival as an entity when they are unable to obtain their food and water, build their ports and railways, extract their minerals, defend themselves, and unleash their creative capabilities. Accordingly, President Tebboune’s diplomatic movement was only encouraged by this strong will to preserve the Algerian people and the Algerian state, so that Algeria would ensure the completion of the pillars of independence and be self-sufficient, away from all the pressures of blackmail, submission and subordination, even if it was necessary to go through difficulties, for that is the price of imposing prestige and respect. “.
